Beyonce releases album secretly
Beyonce released her self-titled album in surprise form last week. Ryan
Tedder produced the single “XO,” and he learned about the release not
long before it went public.
“I knew 90 minutes before it dropped. Ninety minutes. And I said nothing because I love Beyonce and I don’t want her to hate me,” Tedder said in an interview Tuesday.
“I heard a rumor and then I didn’t say anything. I told my wife, ‘I
think Beyonce’s album is dropping in 90 minutes,’ and then I knew that
‘XO’ was on the album,” he said. “I knew it was a single. I didn’t know
if it was first or second. I didn’t know anything, and then today I
found out that it was the lead.”

Idris Elba to release Nelson Mandela Tribute Album
Idris Elba will pay homage to the great Nelson Mandela, using nothing but his vocal dexterity.
The British actor of Ghanaian and Sierra Leonean parentage is set to release an album as tribute to Nelson Mandela in 2014.
Idris plays the former South Africa president and human rights icon in the movie – Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.
“The album will be called “Mi Mandela“. I went back to South Africa and worked with some great musicians.
I’m really proud of the album. I’ll wait until the film has died down so it doesn’t get muddled but I’ll release it in the new year.
Basically it is a love letter from me to Mandela about me playing him.”
He tells Daily Star UK.
World bids Mandela final goodbye
With military pomp and traditional
rituals, South Africa buried Nelson Mandela on Sunday, thus marking
the end of an exceptional journey for the prisoner turned President.
Mandela, who died on December 5 at the
age of 95, was laid to rest in his childhood village of Qunu. His
body travelled from Pretoria by air to Mthatha in Eastern Cape province,
and then by road to Qunu .
Present at the private burial were
about 450 members of the Mandela family, political and religious
leaders as well as foreign dignitaries, including Britain’s Prince
Charles, American civil rights activist ,Reverend Jesse Jackson and talk
show host Oprah Winfrey.
Tribal leaders clad in animal skins joined the dignitaries in dark suits at the grave site overlooking the rolling green hills.
As pall-bearers walked toward the site
after a funeral ceremony, three helicopters whizzed past dangling the
national flag. Cannons fired a 21-gun salute and their echoes rang
over the quiet village.
Mandela’s widow, Graca Machel, dabbed her eyes with a handkerchief as she watched the proceedings.

Tears as Mandela lies in state
Nelson Mandela's distraught widow
was among thousands of mourners who paid their last respects before his
open casket Wednesday, as the much-loved leader lay in state.
Graca Machel was covered in a black headdress with her eyes shielded by sunglasses, placed
both hands on the raised coffin before turning away disconsolate.
At
each end of the casket stood two navy officers clad in white dress
uniform, heads bowed, eyes closed and swords pointing downward.
Underneath a perspex screen, Mandela lay, dressed in a printed brown shirt of the type that became his trademark.
Later, presidents, royalty and thousands of South Africans made their own pilgrimage.
Some
stopped briefly to pray, some bowed, some brushed against the rope
balustrade to get a closer look at the mortal remains of a man who had
earned a place in history long before his death.
Some collapsed, felled by the weight of their grief, before being helped away by medical personnel or fellow onlookers.
